You probably won't see any new blackberry devices.

Last week blackberry announced that it had suffered a lost of nearly $1 billion dollars. Also that they would be cutting about 4500 jobs which speaks for about 35-40% of its staff. That is huge. More recently blackberry announced that it would be receiving a bail out.

Yes Fairfax Financial; a  financial service company in Toronto Canada, is about to acquire Blackberry Ltd for a deal worth $4.7 billion dollars. While the deal isn't final, i'm sure blackberry will be doing whatever is necessary to see the deal through as the company is pretty much finished. What Fairfax plans to do is focus on the the enterprise and security sector of business.
What this means is that we should not expect a new blackberry device every quarter or anytime in the near future. After the epic failure in sales of the Blackberry 10 devices, black berry will be focusing on continuing to develop secure software and pushing communications via email and IM for enterprises and government. As it stands blackberry 7 devices continue to lead in sales for the company and will be the primary devices moving forward. Fairfax CEO and Chairman Prem Watsa stated
"We believe this transaction will open an exciting new private chapter for BlackBerry, its customers, carriers and employees. We can deliver immediate value to shareholders, while we continue the execution of a long-term strategy in a private company with a focus on delivering superior and secure enterprise solutions to BlackBerry customers around the world,"
