Ever heard about 4K??
Sharp Aquos 4K UHD TV |
4K is the new generation of screen resolution. 4K stands for 4000 pixels but also goes by the term UHD (Ultra High Definition). We're just really hearing the buzz on them now but the resolution was created back in 2005.
If you're still confused about all of this here's the run down. A 4K/UHD TV has a resolution of 4096 x 2160 horizontal pixels while in comparison, your current Full HDTV has 1920 x 1080 vertical pixels or (1080p). So what this means is the higher the resolution on the TV the more pixels it has. The more pixels it has means a clearer, more detailed picture. With that being said, a 4K TV has around 8 million pixels while our 1080p TV has just over 2 million. That's 6 million more tiny squares (pixels) in your TV.
The buzz about the 4K is now circulating more because the TVs are rapidly becoming more affordable. Prices have been dropping and this new television technology is expected to have a booming reception by consumers. Also helping push the market is the mobile devices. With the Acer Liquid S2 being the first smart phone to record in 4K, its not long before other brands come on board and start the epidemic.
