Instagram gets things straight!

The Infamous Instagram recently rolled out a new update for iOS. They've added a straighten function to "make it easier to take beautiful photos." Instagram now takes advantage of the sensor that determines the orientation and tilt of your device, and uses it to straighten the photo. This means the auto straighten function can only work with an in-app photo. Have no fear though, the update also includes a slider so you can rotate and adjust any photo including those imported from your photo library.

With rotation comes zooming. Instagram stated that "we need to zoom a little." Simply because when you rotate the photo their would be empty regions in the corners. So naturally the photo is zoomed in a little to fill the edges.

iOS users you can also rotate your photos with common gestures. That is two finger rotation and even one finger rotation. For android... well nothing was mentioned in the instagram blog post of android or even when it will be receiving the update. I don't think "if" has to even be questioned thought. Its probably just a matter of time.

Is Yahoo! on the verge of a come back??

Is Yahoo! on the verge of a come back?

A few days ago for the first time since 2011, Yahoo! was at the top of The U.S. Web Traffic Charts. It was reported by comeScore that Yahoo! had 196.6M unique visitors while Google had only 192.3M.

Today Yahoo! introduced its 7 redesigned, more personal yahoo! experiences campaign. They have redesigned the Yahoo! Sports, Movie, Music, TV, omg!, and Weather sites to bring the users a swifter and easier experience across any platform; whether its the web, your smartphone or your tablet.

Along with the redesigned sites, and topping the charts, Yahoo! launched its 30 days of change campaign as of August 7. Yahoo! is getting set to reveal a new logo on September 5 and each day they'll be releasing a different design leading up to the official new logo. I think it's a great campaign to get persons to visit the site and get the buzz going for them. Not to mention a great acquisition in tumblr.

Whether Yahoo! will ever make it on top or not, we'll have to see. They're certainly making a valiant run at it though.
